Several issues can cause pentachloroethane to convert into tetrachloroethene during an analysis, and the resulting elevated level of tetrachloroethene and low-biased pentachloroethane response may lead to failed proficiency tests (PTs) when analyzing VOCs in solid waste by EPA Method 8260. This version of our popular MegaMix certified reference material (CRM) conveniently gives you 75 compounds in one ampul, but does not include pentachloroethane, so it is ideal for labs that either have had problems with the calibration of tetrachloroethene or do not need to report on pentachloroethane.
We also offer a single-component standard for pentachloroethane (cat.# 30404) for labs that experience elevated tetrachloroethene response but still need to test for pentachloroethane.
For an identical mix that does contain pentachloroethane, see our original mix (cat.# 30633).
Features & Benefits
- Contains 75 compounds in one convenient ampul for the analysis of VOCs in solid waste.
- Quantitatively analyzed to confirm concentration and identity of each compound.
- Excludes pentachloroethane for labs experiencing elevated tetrachloroethene response caused by pentachloroethane breakdown.
